Queen's Health System Nurse, Wound Care - Primary Care Clinic (Big Island, Full-Time, Day) in Kamuela, Hawaii

RESPONSIBILITIES

JOB SUMMARY/RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Provides clinical consultation to facilitate coordination of wound care across the continuum.

• For patients admitted to the inpatient setting, the Wound Care Nurse provides a written report to the inpatient nurse regarding wound care, wound healing progress and long range goals.

TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

• Essential: lifting up to 5-10 lb., seeing, hearing, talking, grasping, fingering.

• Continuous: standing, walking, stooping, forward reaching, handling.

• Frequent: pushing and pulling up to 30 psi, lifting up to 10 lbs., sitting, bending, squatting, twisting.

• Occasional: pushing and pulling up to 70 psi; lifting: horizontal lift/carry up to 50 lbs. with assistance, floor to waist up to 35 lbs., waist to shoulder up to 25 lbs., overhead level up to 15 lbs.; carrying up to 35 lbs, running, climbing, side bending, kneeling, crouching, overhead reaching.

• Operates various machines/tools/work aids.

TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS:

• May be exposed to body fluids, blood products, and communicable diseases.

• Work environment may be highly stressful, fast paced and hectic.

• May be subjected to patients with behavior health conditions.

• May be subjected to heavy patients requiring transfer to and from wound center chair or table.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION AND LICENSURE:

• Current Hawaii license as a Registered Nurse.

• Bachelor’s degree in Nursing preferred.

• Current wound certification from a nationally recognized program; or must obtain a wound certification from a nationally recognized program within two (2) years of entrance into the position.

• Current certification in Basic Life Support at the Healthcare Professional Level.

EXPERIENCE:

• Two (2) years clinical nursing experience.
