Queen's Health System Nurse - Employee Health (Big Island, Full-Time, Day) in Kamuela, Hawaii
RESPONSIBILITIES
JOB SUMMARY/RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Responsible for providing health assessment, vaccinations, health education, first aid and assistance to employees who become injured at work or become ill on the job.
• Coordinates wellness programs for employees and provides education as necessary.
• Performs studies to identify and implement actions to improve the prevention of employee injuries and exposures and assures that plans meet Joint Commission, state and federal regulations.
TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
• Essential: finger dexterity, seeing, hearing, and speaking.
• Continuous: sitting, static gripping of an object for prolonged periods.
• Frequent: walking.
• Occasional: standing, stooping/bending, climbing stairs, walking on uneven ground, lifting and carrying usual weight of 1 pound up to 5 pounds, reaching above, at and below shoulder level, frequent gripping of an object.
• Operates computer, calculator, telephone, fax and printer.
TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS:
• Not substantially subjected to adverse environmental conditions.
• Occasional exposure to safety hazards, disease or contamination in relation to employee health.
• May be required to perform emergency care.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION AND LICENSURE:
• Bachelor’s degree in Nursing.
• Current Hawaii state licensure as a Registered Nurse.
• Current BLS-HCP certification.
EXPERIENCE:
• Three (3) years healthcare experience as a Registered Nurse.
• Experience in Employee Health and Workers’ Compensation preferred.
• Experience to demonstrate:
o Knowledge of employee health regulatory requirements (e.g. DOH, OSHA), workers’ compensation, vaccinations and wellness programs.
o Ability to understand and analyze statistics.
o Ability to interpret a patient’s self-report or behavior, including an understanding of the cognitive, physical, emotional and chronological maturation process.
