Queen's Health System Coordinator, Kohala Home Health (Big Island, Full-Time, Day) in Kamuela, Hawaii
RESPONSIBILITIES
JOB SUMMARY/RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Assists in coordinating and monitoring the daily front office operations for the department. Ensures functions and activities performed are within department and Queens North Hawaii Community Hospital’s (QNHCH) policies and procedures, and operations meet quality standards and established organizational goals and objectives.
• Performs administrative, billing and office support activities.
TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
• Finger dexterity, seeing, hearing, speaking.
• Frequent: standing, walking, lifting, and carrying of lightweight materials up to 30 pounds.
• Occasional: climbing stairs, twisting body, pushing/pulling up to 2 pounds of force, lifting/carrying up to 35 pounds, reaching, stooping, bending, kneeling or crouching, sitting.
TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS:
• Not substantially subjected to adverse environmental conditions.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
A. EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION AND LICENSURE:
• High school diploma or equivalent.
B. EXPERIENCE:
• Two (2) years clerical experience in a healthcare related setting, such as a clinic, hospital, home health, health care agency, medical insurance, physician's office.
• Prior Home Health experience preferred.
• Experience to demonstrate:
o Ability to communicate in English effectively, both verbal and in writing.
o Ability to keep accurate records and perform mathematical calculations.
o Ability to operate office equipment such as computer, copier, facsimile, and telephone.
o Knowledge of medical office/hospital practices and medical terminology, insurance eligibility, billing and scheduling preferred.
SCOPE OF SERVICE
We provide intermittent quality care for homebound patients, of all ages, by offering a network of services to meet the emotional and physical needs of both patients and families. We provide Skilled Nursing, Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Speech Therapy, as well as Certified Home Health Aide care, and Medical Social Worker services. Our service area includes Hilo, Hamakua, North and South Kohala, North Kona, Keaau and Volcano.
