Queen's Health System Sr. IT Imaging System Analyst (Full Time, 40, Day) in Honolulu, Hawaii
RESPONSIBILITIES
I. JOB SUMMARY/RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Provides application and technical expertise and oversight of Enterprise Imaging Systems (e.g., Cardiology PACS, Radiology PACS, Vendor Neutral Archive, other imaging related applications, devices and modalities that integrate with imaging systems), including the implementation of industry best practices, facilitation of priorities and adhering to timelines and deliverables.
• Maintains Subject Matter Expert (SME) level of knowledge in clinical and technical processes and workflows relating to Enterprise Imaging Systems.
• Provides a consultative service to operational departments on advancing the use of technology to achieve efficiencies and automate manual work.
• Investigates and documents requirements, identifies options for improving imaging systems and bridges the needs of the clinicians with the use of technology. Serves as a liaison with stakeholders to elicit, analyze, communicate and validate requirements for changes in systems, processes, policies and procedures.
• Critically evaluates information gathered from multiple sources, reconciles conflicts, decomposes high-level information into details, abstracts up from low-level information to a general understanding, and distinguishes user requests from the underlying true needs.
• Manages small to moderate sized projects/initiatives, including project planning, efficient execution of the plan, management of risks and issues to enable high quality deliverables, and on-time completion.
• Supervises and directs work of assigned staff.
II. TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
• Seeing, hearing, speaking, finger dexterity.
• Frequent: sitting.
• Infrequent: walking, stooping/bending, reaching at and below shoulder level.
III. TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS:
• Not substantially subjected to adverse environmental conditions.
• Work schedule includes providing 24 hours/7 days a week support as required.
IV. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
A. EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION AND LICENSURE:
• Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Information Technology, Computer Science, Radiologic Technology, Nursing or related field; or four (4) years experience in IT demonstrating technical knowledge to design, test, and implement clinical applications may be substituted for the educational requirement.
• Based on area of assignment, must successfully complete and maintain certification(s) in the application(s) assigned, and as may be specified per the training agreement.
B. EXPERIENCE:
• In addition to the educational requirement, six (6) years experience in Enterprise Imaging System support, including analysis, requirements gathering, system design, system configuration, and testing.
• Three (3) years experience supporting Radiology PACS and/or Cardiology PACS solutions required.
• Experience to demonstrate the following:
o Detailed knowledge of clinical processes within Radiology and Cardiology.
o Expert knowledge in analysis, requirements gathering, and system design.
o Proficiency in application configuration, query writing, access administration, and workflow implementation.
o Detailed knowledge of technology utilized in Enterprise Imaging such as DICOM, HL7, WAN, LAN, Load Balancers, etc.
o Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, including Office, Excel, Word, and other desktop applications.
o Exceptional analytical skills, including a thorough understanding of clinical processes, interpretation of clinical needs into requirements.
o Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively lead and communicate with others at various levels within the organization and with external vendors.
o Demonstrated ability to lead projects/initiatives of moderate complexity.
• Two (2) years IT project management experience preferred.
• Prior supervisory/management experience preferred.
